This is a reintroduction of the classical V-Matic EGO designed by Hannes Wettstein in 1994. The Hannes Wettstein watches are exposed in the Museum of Modern Art, usually abbreviated MoMA. High end caliber inside, based on ETA 2892-A2. Hardened Titanium case. Sapphire crystal front and back. Italian leather band with a titanium deployant buckle.
It is an extremely classical and beautiful timepiece, with which you can not go wrong. Top materials and craftsmanship, not even talking about the Bauhaus German design, classical timepiece.
In 1994, Ventura introduced the original V-Matic EGO. Designed by Hannes Wettstein, the watch took a form based on a series standards that Wettstein put forth to the brand. Among those standards were that the watch’s aesthetic appearance be defined by its functional, technical, and material characteristics. The chosen case material, titanium, would largely determine its form, and the dial layout would be sparse, including only the information necessary to tell the time at a glance.
The new V-matic EGO has been thought through in much the same way. What you’re left with, naturally, is a simple, easy-to-read watch made for comfort and convenience. The case is made from PVD-coated hardened titanium, fitted with an exhibition case back (snap-on) with a sapphire window. A sharp white matte dial with three thin, blued hands, a raised inner ring with black printed markers for the minutes, three thin blued hands, applied polished stainless steel Ventura logo at 12 o'clock; a trapezoidal date window at 6:00 with a distinct date wheel; and small blued hour markers around the perimeter of the dial yield a watch with perfect symmetry. There’s just enough depth to the dial to give it a visual interest, and the lightweight titanium case has compact, easy wearing lugs that, from the top (the time-telling perspective) appear to flare outward. It’s a nice visual trick on a watch that in every other way is all about form following function. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters and come with an Italian black leather band with a smooth finish without stitching to match the dial and closes with a deployant titanium buckle that can be adjusted to an exact fit of your wrist's size. Inside this watch, a customized ETA 2892-A2 ticks away at 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a power reserve of 42 hours. This simple Swiss-made movement shows the hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as the date (at 6 o’clock) with a rapid set function. Also, the Ventura “dot-date” returns, incorporating a neat callback to the original models (the date discs doesn't shows the date in the classical format: when you will see a Dot above a 9, it will mean the date is 19th. If you see two Dots above 7, it will mean 27th and for three Dots, you get it)
The entire case and deployant buckle is made of titanium, one of the finest materials available.Titanium is mainly used in aeronautics and for the manufacture of surgical instruments and is also prized by watchmakers as a versatile metal with excellent properties; for instance, it is: corrosion-resistant, anti-magnetic, kind to skin (does not cause allergic reactions), scratch/dent-resistant, very lightweight but remarkably hard, stable even at extreme temperatures etc.
High end quality Swiss made analog automatic movement. Because of its enormous popularity and also the fact that it is deemed accurate and reliable enough, it is used as a base movement for many high-end manufacturers complications. It is commonly found in "upscale" Swiss watches. The 2892-A2 is an evolution of the 2892.
