DESCRIPTION
Grundig called this 4-track, 3-head Hi-Fi Stereo recorder “the finest model they have ever made”.
Its performance reportedly exceeded the German Hi-Fi standard for tape recorders.
Two built-in speakers were driven by a four watt per channel amplifier and light-touch servo buttons controlled Start, Stop, Pause, Record, FastForward and Rewind functions.
‘Cursor’ sliders were provided for Volume, Tone, Mixing/Multiplay and Manual Recording level adjustment (although there was a built-in automatic record level circuit).
Slider switched enabled Echo Effect, Synchronous Play (for making a second recording in synchronisation with an existing one on another track), manual recording and automatic level recording.
Other features included a 4-digit position indicator, end-of-tape auto stop, a single VU meter (why couldn’t there have been two?) and an input selector.
