Cutit Vinatoare Vechi ani 1931 Bergans Sliring Norway Rar! " Bergans knife production started in 1931 with sheath knives, followed by the popular model Sliring. This had a protruding tip on the handle which could be used to clean/scrape the edge of skis.
The knife was different from the existing whittling/sheath knives having a thinner blade and was made of stainless steel. Bergans offered knives in a series of different sizes and models from small Scout knives to large hunting knives.
In the beginning production of the knife steel was done by Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk, but later small specialised producers of steel produced the blades – including in Mora, Eskilstuna.
